When your beliefs block your income…
The beliefs we hold about ourselves and others shape the way we see the world, influencing our decision making and how we show up. Empowerment Coach Lisa Tregenza recently lead a She Owns It Masterclass on how to shift the beliefs that no longer serve us - and allow clients, money and sales to flow easier to us.
Lisa moved out of corporate to wellness and loves elevating other women in business to see more than potential - to get them to step up and out. She says that, “One definition of trauma is unprocessed emotions that are stored in the body. In this lifetime I have overcome boundary violation, people pleasing, perfectionism, my inner critic and financial crisis.”
“I became so curious with my discovery. I researched and studied trauma, NLP, life coaching, music therapy, and developed my own unique style of movement and mantra. I am now known as The Movement and Mindset Coach.” She runs workshops, programmes and retreats to support women to work through trauma, limiting beliefs, physical pain, mindset shifts and healing.
As an embodiment and empowerment coach, Lisa supports women to be kind to themselves -to acknowledge their pain and their past, and to work on release and letting go.
The She Owns It Masterclass with Lisa was held on the eve of the Chinese New Year, as we prepared to step into the new year of the Fire Horse - a year of momentum and expansion, of moving with courage and confidence.
Many of us would like to feel more momentum in our business right now! Lisa was able to explore with attendees how previous trauma and current limiting beliefs block our purpose, and cause us to self sabotage our own actions and goals.
For example, we might plan out an amazing new product or service release. We work hard to get it right, the value in it is immense, and it is ready to launch. But then…. we’re afraid to boldly step into the world with it, because we have fears of being judged, of not being good enough. The saboteur in our mind says we will fail. The Imposter syndrome tells us we aren’t good enough to be doing this. Our beautiful product is not generating sales and making a difference to customers, because we aren’t ready to stand out and shout it to the world.
Lots of the women in business that I talk to share similar fears - not liking putting themselves out there, not knowing what to post, feeling very self conscious, not feeling good enough/qualified enough/experienced enough. We play small.
What if we stopped playing small?
In the Masterclass, Lisa spoke about the impacts of what trauma does to our body. When we freeze, fight, flight or fawn as a response to a threat or perceived threat, particularly for a sustained period of time or in response to serious danger, our nervous system doesn’t feel safe.
That means that expansion feels like our life is in danger.
That’s why when we go to put ourselves onto a stage, approach a new potential customer, do a social media post, we feel fear.
We see sustained stress response in women every day - when you sigh or freeze when an email comes in, when you rush through routines because you’re always in a hurry, when you shallow breathe all day - these are all messages to your brain and body that you are unsafe.
Lisa spoke to our attendees about the ways we can shift our body and mind’s energy to feel safety again. She invited us to participate in a couple of activities that moved our body, and asked us how we felt afterwards. We felt good! We were breathing deeper, feeling lighter, all sitting more calmer.
She asked us to consider, ‘who would I be if I wasn’t supporting everyone else?’
What a question - for us who are givers, women in business, mothers, sisters, daughters, educators, volunteers, community members, students and all the other roles we hold.
The session with Lisa left us considering - who are we? And who do we want to be?
What do we need to do to become her - what do we need to shed and let go off?
People pleasing, trauma, burnout, conditioning - patterns that block our success and limit our growth - need to be felt and worked on to heal. “Intuitively I bring together my lived experience and healing with my training, to offer a holistic somatic practice. This includes mind and body work, a combination of talking therapy and guided bodywork.”
Lisa’s upcoming Bali retreat is an opportunity to break through what is holding you back so you can move forward.
