Mindset
I'm not sure if I can actually make this business work...
Before you walk away from your biz please know this. YOU are the only one who sets the measure for what 'working' means for you in your business. Most of us don't want to be the next Bill Gates or Mark Zuckerberg. We want a business that offers us an income, purpose and flexibility of lifestyle. For you, success might mean $10,000 a year of spending money after costs. It might mean $100,000- or it might mean much more. All of those benchmarks are worthy.

So first of all, decide what it is you actually want.

I don't have the skills I need to make this happen

I get it. Sometimes I feel like a Jack of all trades and master of none. But this is what I know to be true. There has never been a better time for women to start businesses. We have access to more support, more knowledge, more contacts at the touch of finger than we've ever had before.

You can tell yourself you're not good at marketing, or design, or that you don't like to put yourself out there- or you can tell yourself you're not good at those things YET- then embrace all of the amazing information available to you, and apply it.

Your business and what you offer is important- to you and to the people you serve. If you don't show up for your business, you're not showing up for the people who need you. Even worse, you're wasting your precious time.

I know it's challenging. It still challenges me every day. And I don't always choose to show up. But when I do, I rarely regret it. In fact, showing up for my business has been life changing for me. It's landed me here, with you.

I know this might sound challenging but only YOU are at the helm of your business. You are in control. YOU need to decide on the strategy. YOU need to be the best brand ambassador for your biz that you can be. You need to show up.

And I am honoured to be holding this space with you. Because what you do matters.

Do I have to be the 'face' of my business? I don't want to put myself out there
(one foot in the door vs throwing yourself in the room). Throwing yourself in the room doesn't mean working all day and all night. It means getting savvy with your precious time. It means doing the things that we know work right now to help you market and grow your business on a bootstring budget. It might mean: stopping spending hours crafting a social media post (that you either don't end up posting or you post to crickets anyway) and learning how to do a reel. It might mean taking some photos of yourself and getting them up on your website. Providers and industry leaders tell us and show us what's working right now to get reach and customers. What you need to do? Listen, and throw yourself into the room!
