Why am I not making more sales on Facebook and Instagram? This might be why
It’s a pretty key question for small businesses: How do I make more sales on social media?
This is even more important with Christmas just around the corner!
In this blog post, I am going to explain the #1 thing that is stopping you from making more conversions and sales from your social media posts.
The Reason You Aren’t Making More Sales On Social Media
The reason you are not making more sales on Facebook and Instagram might be the content itself.
Hear me out for a second! Let’s try a scenario that you have probably encountered yourself.
Imagine that you are following a business that you like on Facebook (for example, an interior decorator).
You really like this interior decorator, and they show up on your feed a lot.
However, they are ALWAYS talking about their offers. They talk about what discounts they are running, how much services cost, they have a couple more spots before Christmas and you should hurry and book with them.
So, although you like this person and their style and their visuals, you are getting REALLY tired of hearing their offers when you’re not ready to buy anything yet.
Imagine instead that they are sharing valuable content.
They are posting pictures of Pinterest-worthy houses and giving you tips on how to style your own space.
When the time comes for you to hire a decorator, you are much more likely to think of the person who has given you valuable, inspiring content!

How To Sell More Using Social Media Marketing
Your social media profile should be doing one thing to make sales: getting people to your website.
It is your website that will be making the real conversions.
You should be using your Facebook and Instagram to:
The sales don’t usually come from directly your social media.
They come from building the “know, like, trust” factor. Sales come when people like your business and want to know more from your website.
On my own profile, I share my personality, my business journey and my knowledge. But ultimately, I want people to move to my website so that my landing pages and email list can convert them into loyal members!
Your social media content should build relationships and get people excited about your products and services!
Social Media Caption Template
If you need a bit of help, I have included a social media caption template.
You can use this as a rough guide to start writing captions that convert! Once you get more confident in providing value as a marketing technique, you can play around with the structure even more.
These are all important strategies. Formatting your captions so that they provide more value builds your brand over time.
But most importantly in all of this? Be unapologetically YOU. By doing that, you are giving your clients and customers permission to be real as well.
THAT’S the sort of powerful branding that makes more sales on social media.
