Maybe you don't feel like setting business goals this year. Maybe you set them in 2019 and they never happened. And now you're feeling like there is not point. Well, I'm here to tell you that you CAN reach the goals you are dreaming of, and I have 5 tips on how to ACTUALLY get there in 2020! Write your goals down Don’t keep your business goals in your head in 2020! You need to start writing everything down so that you can refer back to it. It is nice to say that you will make 6-figures this year. Or that you would like paid speaking events. However, if you don’t write it down and make it real, it means you can
Instead, create a system that lets you come back to your goals on a regular basis. Create tangible goals Remember when gurus used to tell you to make SMART goals? The same idea is still important years later! SMART goals are
To reach your business goals, you need to write down exactly how you are going to achieve them. And before we go further, I want you to know that it’s OK if you made the same goal last year and didn’t reach it. It’s OK if things haven’t gone to plan yet. I just need you to keep going! Let’s do an example to get started. For example, you might want to grow your email list. To be a smart goal, you can’t just say you are going to grow your email list. How many people do you want on your list? What tactics will you use to grow it? Is it a reasonable number? My email list is how I built my dream 6-figure business in less than a year. It is a GREAT goal. However, it needs to look more like this: I will grow my email list to 1000 people by the end of 2020 (about 84 people per month). I will design a lead magnet by the end of January and every week I will share it on Pinterest, tell people about it on social media, and promote it on Facebook ads once a month. I will hire someone to write the email welcome sequence because I don’t know how to do it myself, and I will write down (and celebrate) how many people I sign up every month. When you are setting your own goal, remember to include:
Plan it out I know you have big goals for 2020. I have big goals for She Owns It as well! But if you are not breaking your goals down into smaller, bite size steps then you are much more likely to burn out and forget them. I like to plan everything out for 90 days at a time. I ask myself things like
Once you have set your specific, measurable goals, you have to take action. This is one of the things I wish I knew before I started my online 6-figure business. It’s not enough to just say you want something! Inside the She Owns It Members club, I run 90 day planning workshops for this reason. In these live sessions, our members get to
All with me on their team! P.s. If you want to learn more about how I do my quarterly planning sessions, read this post here. Get accountability If you run a business by yourself at home, you already know how important it is to have accountability. Whether that is in a group or with a mentor, everyone needs someone to check in once in a while. Having an accountability partner means you
If you have friends and family that support your business goals- great! However it is also important to have people that are on the same journey as you. Even though your friends and family love you, they won’t necessarily understand why you’re excited about spreadsheets, or how to deal with customer service issues. Whenever we ask She Owns It members why they love being in the club, the answer is always the same: the people. Watching our ladies make connections and realizations in the She Owns It Facebook group every single day is the reason I created the membership. Not only do we have the online community, but every month business women meet up all over the country with their groups and accountability partners. Entrepreneurship can be difficult and confusing, but having accountability will make the road less lonely! Bonus tip: enjoy the small wins Running a small business isn’t amazing all the time. You might look back at 2019 and feel like you haven’t moved forward at all (even backwards sometimes!). To reach your business goals in 2020, I want you to celebrate the little things. I want you to celebrate things even if you aren’t reaching your financial goals! Make a big long list of all the tiny things that make your business successful.
Not everything in business is about money. Give yourself some grace and get excited about all the things that are going RIGHT. I promise that it will make 2020 the most magical and successful year yet. Are you ready to make 2020 your biggest year in business yet? Do you want accountability, support and BIG goal sessions that give you a plan to succeed every single time? Then make sure you are on the wait list for the She Owns It Members club!
