Are you desperate to make more sales in your biz? You feel like you're giving your all trying to grow your audience and make money and nothing is working? Today I'm going to share a simple process you need to do to start making more sales using social media- It's called the three P's. Step 1. Don't PanicIf you have a small social media following this is GOOD news. If you want to build a robust business that grows fast- this is a critical stage for you that you don't want to waste. Right now, you have an opportunity to get to know and understand your small audience intimately. I want you to stop thinking of your social media followers as 'followers' or 'numbers and start thinking of them as PEOPLE. Ask them their name. Where they are from. Why they are following you. What they WANT. Get to know them as actual, real life people. This will stand you out FAST to those people who can see you truly want to make a difference to their lives. In this crazy online world you will be surprised what a difference a human touch makes. The result? People will tell their friends about you. Word will spread- organically, without you having to do a thing more. But also (and critically) you will get to understand your customer and build relationships with them on a much deeper level. This will allow you to build a much more robust, customer centric business that will both grow faster and go the distance. Step 2- Build the ProcessBefore you spend a dollar or a minute more on trying to find new customers- do this: 1. Go to your Facebook page, your website, your Instagram account. Wherever it is that you are trying to attract new people. Ask yourself this one question: When you first come to the page- without scrolling, moving around or having to LOOK for it- is it very, very obvious what the next step is for your customer? Don't assume that your customer knows what to do when they come to your Facebook Page or website. They don't. They have come to your page for a reason. They want more. Don't make them jump through hoops and over obstacles to get it. They will bounce and you will lose this one precious opportunity to nurture them. This is another reason why it's actually GREAT that you've got a small audience right now. Use that audience to find out what you can give them next. Think of a few high quality freebie ideas and ask your audience which one they would love the most. Listen to them carefully. Ask them to tell you what they want. Then, use your Social Media platforms, website etc to offer that freebie to your audience. Monitor the result. If you have 100 followers on your Facebook page, and 1 person signs up, you know you might need to create a new freebie. So ask your audience again- what do you need? Create the new freebie and test it again. If you get 5-10 or 20 people sign up, you know you're on to a better thing. You'll get better over time and it will take a little time. But one day you'll create a golden freebie- one that fits your audience like a glove. One that they absolutely want, they absolutely love and they will absolutely tell friends about. Your email list will start to grow, you can continue to nurture your list and THIS is where you will make your sales (how to convert list members to customers is a whole other topic which I'll share with you soon). Then, once you've made those sales and you have a precious customer, create a process around how you are going to thank them, reward them, make them feel special and encourage them to recommend their friends. 3. Time to PromoteOnly once you've got a robust process in place that works- only then is it time to amplify your efforts to attract people to your audience online. I hereby give you permission NOT to: - run competitions - do giveaways - get PR - print advertising - spend money on Facebook ads - Google ads - SEO Or any attention grabbing activities for your business if you haven't completed steps 1 and 2 above. But if you have completed those steps, and you can SEE that your efforts are working because: 1. people are finding you through word of mouth 2. then they travel from your social platforms and website to your email list 3. once they're on your list, they are converting to customers and telling friends about you THEN you can start to amplify those results by advertising and drawing attention to your business. THEN you can start spending time on social media testing what works to attract new customers. THEN that precious time and money you spend on advertising will bring you the results you crave. The bonus is that you will have less overwhelm along the way and feel much more in control of your business.

Hey Rach - great post on the tips. It's often hard to take a step back away from your business and look at it from a "visitor's" point of view.
