The easiest way to improve your website copy
Your website copy is one of the most important marketing tools you have.
It is the first thing customers read when they land on your website. It is the thing that markets for you while you sleep.
And it is SO easy to get wrong!
So I’ve come up with a simple way to check whether your copy is going to convert to sales or whether it is turning people away.
She Owns It Success Stories
Every month we interview an amazing lady in our community, and this month I want you to meet the amazing Debbie Mills Robertson from Task Diva.
Debbie is a virtual assistant that puts life into all the creative tasks you want in your business, but don't have time to do yourself!
For her, this was the logical biz model- previously she owned 2 other businesses, so she's had 11 years to learn exactly what busy women need.
She lives in Christchurch with her daughter, silver-fox husband, cat and dog, and I am SO excited for you to hear her story!
Facebook Business Page Tips for More Customer Conversions
Optimizing your business Facebook page is one of the easiest ways to make sure people find you.
Facebook currently has over 2 billion users. We can say all we want about algorithms and Instagram taking over, but that is a LOT of people. It would silly not to get a piece of that pie!
Use these 10 tips to optimize your Facebook page and you'll do less work and spend less money on marketing in the long run 🎉.
If you run a small business online, you probably know that Facebook ads are an effective method for converting sales.
They have probably even worked on you!
But why aren't they working in YOUR business? What secret formula have you missed that everyone else seems to know?
WHEN is the right time to start paying for Facebook ads?
In this post, I've got three questions you need to ask yourself BEFORE you throw a ton of money at Facebook ads!
Fess up ladies- do any of these statements sound like you?: "I'm not sure what to work on next in my business" "I'm overwhelmed" "I don't feel like I'm making the progress or seeing the results I want..." If so, don't worry, you are not alone!
These feelings are so common and totally normal- especially if you're battling through your business journey alone without much support, guidance or accountability. This is why our 30 Day Biz Challenge is so popular in the Members Club!
There's no question that you need more support right now than ever before in business! So many of you are service based business owners, sell 'non essential' products or support industries that have been severely impacted by Covid-19.
Last week, I did a free live support call for our community. We talked mindset, marketing, social media- some of the big mistakes I see people make and what you can be focussing on now to build strong foundations for your business going forward. Enjoy!
Nearly four years ago, I created a free Facebook group for NZ women in business. At the time, I had a two year old daughter Amelia, we were in the midst of what turned out to be another long journey of IVF, pregnancy and loss trying for our 2nd baby, and with some remaining commitments to the business I founded in London I wasn't 'working' here in NZ.
(last updated 25/03/20 4pm) The outbreak of COVID- 19 is already having an impact on many of you. Information and advice from Government is changing quickly- we'll endeavour to review and update below often for you.
A reminder that above all in this challenging time coming together as a community is paramount. Look after yourself, your family, your elderly and your neighbours. Err on the side of caution. Together, we WILL get through this, and we will thrive- a growth mindset is SO important right now!
I hope as always that you can find here a space to lean on and find support. We're here for you, I'm here for you.
Are you feeling isolated and needing support with your biz right now? On Tuesday at 10am, we're opening our Members Club doors to ALL NZ women in business and inviting you to join us at our next virtual co working session.
For anyone who wants to use a reliable software that doesn't break the bank to interview people live on Facebook! Here's how I do it using Zoom on their $14.99 a month plan.
Do you feel like you're chasing your tail with your marketing? Coming up with new ideas, writing content, creating freebies, posting on your blog and social media- and seeing NO results? Here's how I found my way past that to grow my 6 figure biz working part time!
If you're feeling overwhelmed in your business- you're not alone! Knowing what to focus on when is one of THE biggest problems our Members face. So what do I do to get back on the right track?!
1. Give myself some time out. Go for a walk, have a shower. A short break.
2. During that time, reconnect with my WHY
3. Get all of those lingering 'to do's out of my head and onto paper- and do some planning!
An hour of planning can save you ten hours of doing
Below I've popped a free Braindump Productivity Printable download for you as well as a link to our Members' Club if you want to access all of our resources and find the clarity and profit you've dreamt of in your business!

In these interviews, we put a spotlight on women who are bravely navigating life and biz and all the ups and downs that come with it.
We get real about what it means to be in business, how they deal with work-life balance, what it means to be a She Owns It member, and advice they have for other women just starting out.
Nicky is the face behind AwesoME Inc, a business that sells resilience and gratitude journals.
What started as a way to monetize her blog has turned into a business that impacts the community in a life-changing way.
Find out how working through imposter syndrome, business partnership changes, learning curves and moving countries has all paid off for Nicky!
If you are reading this, you probably want help building a successful online biz.
You have probably tried all the things to make it work!
I have had 2 businesses in 3 countries with millions of dollars in revenue.
So you could say that I know a few things about building a business online.
But in this post I am sharing 10 things I wish I knew BEFORE starting my business (and some of them might surprise you!).
Hey, I know you.
You are desperate to get your business off the ground and hit that 6-figure year.
You have this fire in you.
But it is taking SO long. Every other business woman seems to be doing it so quickly.
No matter how hard you try, you can’t get consistent sales and you aren’t making any more money than you did in your “regular” job.
I know because you are exactly where I was a few years ago.
From working at home with 2 kids to multiple business award nominations, North-Auckland business owner Margriet O'Reilly is an inspiration to New Zealand women in business.
Together with a team of 5, Magriet and her husband run the industry-leading boutique printing company Pinc.
She always knew that she wanted to be a graphic designer, and has about 14 years experience to her name.
Over time, she re-branded and became the designing, foiling, determined business woman that she is today!
She lives in the Hibiscus coast with her husband, 2 kids, a small petting zoo (complete with alpacas), and she is this month's She Owns It success story!
