I'm going to let you in on a little secret. When we hired our first employee, we had no systems in place. It was the classic 'hire her and hope it sticks' type scenario that can definitely go either way.

​The good news was, it did stick, but the bad news was, we did our employee and out business a disservice by not being more prepared. There was a massive missed opportunity there that I don't want you to make if you're thinking about hiring or outsourcing in your biz!

Our WE VIP Members Club Business Bootcamp this month is all about employing and outsourcing. We have the wonderful Emma Black from Cloud My Staff on board and I'll be sharing a few tips that I've learnt over the years as well.

One of the things we talk about is the importance of getting your business values and culture in line before you embark on the hiring process. 

It's so easy to skip that and head straight to getting your job advert in place and interviewing staff. But how are you going to find people who truly buy into your vision and brand, if you haven't considered your culture and how you are going to voice it?

You need to have a deep understanding of the purpose and vision for your business before you hire anyone. What difference are you making in the world through your business? What do you care about? As a team, as a company, as a community, what do you, your team and your customers all aspire to?

It is these things that tie people together, and help them become a strong entity. A group that works together for a bigger common goal.

Without these things, your run the risk that over time your employees feel dissatisfied or lacking in motivation. So make sure you head over to the Members Club and check out this months video.
